Basic Functions:
The Reservoir Engineering Technologist is responsible for supplying technical, organizational and administrative assistance to all areas of the Asset including the teams executing capital projects and the staff that support the existing production operations.
He/she will also assist with regulatory compliance and submissions.
Relationships:
Reporting to the Development Manager, North Asset.
Specific Responsibilities:
Gather and analyze data for conventional and unconventional oil/gas reservoirs
Maintain and update various technical information data bases
Provide reservoir engineering support to multi-disciplinary reservoir characterization group
Provide date management/integration/interpretation using various software tools
Compile and assist with interpretation and integration of reservoir engineering and geological/geophysical data
Retrieve and analyze different data including production data and pressure data to assist with reservoir modeling efforts
Coordinate pressure survey work
Retrieve and analyze well and reservoir data, well test data, PVT, production data, decline curves, etc.
Assist in coordinating reserve evaluation, budgets, planning and project approval process
Assist in developing project costs and economics for development prospects
Prepare RE project tracking, reporting and presentation materials
Assist in developing AFE’S
Provide data, forms and reports to meet requirements of regulatory agencies, including ERCB, Petroleum Registry and OGC
Qualifications:
Diploma in Engineering Technology (Bachelors degree preferred)
5 years of related experience
Extensive computer knowledge, including MS Office (including Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Knowledge and experience with engineering software (including AccuMap, GeoScout, Fieldview) are required
Knowledge and experience with well test analysis software (including RTA) and well/reservoir simulation software are considered as definite assets
Ability and desire to become proficient in engineering software use and interface with industry and company databases
Quick learner with a strong desire to learn attention to detail and adaptable to new methods and technologies
