The Scope:
To lead Metallurgy related activities, projects and services; & support the Operations to achieve safe and optimised production outputs in a responsible, sustainable and effective manner aligned with the Departmental strategy.
Your key responsibilities are:

We are looking for a Metallurgical Superintendent
Identify process improvement opportunities and then instigate process improvements and cost reduction projects.
Develop and maintain effective metallurgical systems and procedures to accurately forecast/schedule and to meet operational and cost targets
Have integrated and standardised metallurgical processes that are part of a continuously improving process and recommend processing options
Develop and achieve applicable Sustainable Development targets and objectives
Develop, manage and achieve operational and capital budget targets
Consider increased value of products through blending opportunities, improved grades and recoveries of metal
Provide metallurgical technical support to enable the Concentrator and Smelter to achieve optimised performance, with operational training as required
Meet/exceed Departmental production targets, monitor process performance on a daily basis and advise of changes required
Essential Selection Criteria:
Minimum 10 years or more experience in mineral processing (Mandatory)
Tertiary qualifications in metallurgy/ process engineering
Providing technical input into feasibility studies as well as for the development of new projects
Supervising preparation of documentation for standards, procedures, safe working practices and project regimes
Providing high level technical support for metallurgical work as required
A strong focus and adherence to safety, and continuous improvement
Demonstrated management/leadership ability
Demonstrated Commitment to safety and quality standards
Demonstrated project management skills
Strong budgeting skills
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Proven track record of safety, environment and quality assurance standards
Competence of full range of Microsoft Office Programs in particular Excel, Word and Outlook
