TransGrid, a New South Wales state owned corporation and one of Australia's leading electricity transmission network service providers, currently has a vacancy for a Senior Electrical Engineer within the Transmission Line and Cable Design group based in the Sydney CBD.

Reporting to the Manager/Transmission Line & Cable Design, the Senior Electrical Engineer is required to:

• Develop, lead and manage the electrical design for TransGrid’s high voltage transmission line works and associated engineering activities on a commercially successful basis.
• Manage the electrical design for TransGrid’s transmission lines and the development of design standards policies that meet international best practice and the objectives of TransGrid.
• Provide specialist technical advice and opinions, prepare reports, drawings, specifications and design standards for use within TransGrid and by external construction contractors in accordance with project objectives and undertake investigations associated with the electrical design of high voltage
  transmission lines and cables.
• Resolve complex technical issues to ensure that designs are applied in the most cost effective manner.

To be considered, applicants must have:

• Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering.
• Experience in the electrical design aspects of transmission lines.
• Resource and people management skills.
• Good knowledge and proven performance in the electrical design aspects of HV transmission lines.
• Good knowledge of national and international technical standards related to transmission line and HV cable engineering.
• Leadership skills in project planning and management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to lead a highly skilled engineering team.
• Knowledge of the energy industry.
