Vacancies currently exist within the George Fisher Technical Services department for two Senior Mine Planning Engineers. This position will report to the Planning Superintendent and is a fully residential position based in Mount Isa, Queensland.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Co-ordination and control of shot/ medium term mine planning activities
• Develop strategic projects aimed at improving mine efficiency and safety
• Quality control of mine design processes and plans.
• Mentoring of Graduate and junior mining engineers
• Control and coordinate key communication processes between Operations, Management and Technical Services.

Ideally you will possess:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
• Solid underground mining experience with a focus on mine planning
• Combined mining and production experience
• Demonstrated understanding of mine geology, scheduling, rock mechanics and ventilation principles
• Well developed verbal and written communication skills
• Sound computer skills, including MS office and mine planning software
