NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

The Head of Department for Commissioning of the Power Station has overall responsibility for managing the Commissioning phase of the Power Station.

The jobholder will work in close collaboration with the engineering and supply team from the main office, the construction team (module depot and the construction site), construction companies, commissioning and pre-operations teams, operations staff from KNS, and the company running and maintaining the power station. The objective is to ensure that infrastructural facilities are handed over successfully, from completion of construction works, pre-operations testing and commissioning through to the handover of facilities to KNS operations staff/the company responsible for operations and maintenance; all in keeping with the commercial strategy of the project.

The job holder should have considerable knowledge and experience so that they can integrate into existing teams to carry out tasks and provide practical support throughout the Commissioning and Ramp-up phase of all Koniambo Nickel facilities.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Always prioritise the health and safety of individuals, team members and any third parties,
• Understand the values of Koniambo Nickel and demonstrate appropriate behaviour,
• Under all circumstances, understand and follow all Koniambo Nickel policies and procedures
• To develop and implement detailed commissioning plans for the power station zone, ensuring that the schedule and budget determined comply strictly with the overall scheduling and budget for the project
• To finalise the organisation of the commissioning team for the power station zone
• To take responsibility for refining criteria and the commissioning team’s and operations staff’s handover and acceptance plan (completion certificates, trials reports, etc)
• To issue reports on the physical progress of activities and deliverables during the commissioning phase in parallel to budgets and the schedule.
• To be able to use his/her knowledge and experience to carry out tasks quickly and to resolve the problems typically encountered when commissioning new facilities, strictly observing all working procedures in place,
• To play a role in improving working procedures while applying policies set out in management documents,
• Be flexible and able to adapt to changing and often challenging circumstances such as sudden changes in responsibilities, changes to shift schedules, changes to teams, etc

REQUIREMENTS

• Technical Diploma plus 15 years experience of working in power stations including experience of commissioning.
• Mastery of the French language an advantage
