Job description:

Overview:

Superintend the entire plant process with the aim of optimizing metal recovery, ensuring constant equipment availability and process and labour efficiency. Ensures that all operations are carried out in accordance with approved safety and environmental standards and regulations. Responsibilities include operations, mechanical and electrical maintenance, metallurgical and assay laboratory and water control.

Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise the activities of assigned personnel in the Plant Department. Performs supervisory duties at the Department head level as established by the management for the position.
  2. Exercises general supervision over plant operations to ensure optimal recovery of gold and silver from the ore. Includes viewing collated daily production figures and results, identifying deviations from predetermined standards and targets, taking action on such deviations in liaison with supervisory staff and following up to ensure effective achievement results.
  3. Exercises general supervision of preventive and breakdown mechanical and electrical maintenance. Includes holding schedule meetings with his supervisory staff to review preceding results, determining action to be taken and priorities for emergency and day to day breakdowns, discussing ideas and suggestions for modifications to equipment for performance improvement and discussing ideas for resolution of on going maintenance problems.
  4. Review and design of heap pads and segmental plans for stacking procedure as well as adoption of the heap irrigation program.
  5. Excercises a direct liaison with contractor for the preparation of       pads and hauling of material if necessary .
  6. Exercises general supervision of total assay activities. Includes monitoring analytical and test results, liaison with chief chemist regarding improved methods and equipment, and compiling and submitting reports to higher management.
  7. Exercises a direct supervision of metallurgical laboratory activities. Includes establishment of metallurgical test programs to identifying less efficient areas in the processing plant, adopt the possible remedies and suitable test work to be conducted, setting the necessary methods and procedures to be followed for the specific bench test, analyzing the validity of the results obtained, discussing with supervisory staff the possibility of applying it plant-wide.
  8. Determining its cost effectiveness in practice, and drawing up a report with recommendations for management approval.
  9. Ensures general supervision of water treatment and control, regarding the level of water stocks, performance of water treatment plant for preceding 24 hours for identifying problems, which have arisen, and the remedial action required.
  10. Exercises a direct supervision of the smelt house and gold bullions, including weights and assay record, inventory, saving and prepare the necessary documents for shipment.
  11. Supervises the department's implementation of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs. Attends and provides input to strategy and policy development and review meeting. Ensures that all contractors/consultants are fully briefed on the company's HSE issues to improve company program.
  12. Supervises and participates in the training of Saudi Nationals to carry out their duties on high standards.
  13. Carries out other similar or related duties.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Processing / Chemical Engineering.
  2. Computer knowledge, MS Applications,
