Within the Yilgarn Operations Barrick operates four wholly owned Gold Mines in the North Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia producing approx. 500,000-600,000 oz of gold each year. Our Lawlers Operationis currently seeking a highly experience Senior Geologist who enjoys the challenge of complicated rocks in a complex structural environment. Reporting to the Geology Manager, you will play a key role in supervising, mentoring and training a team of Mine Geologists and Project Geologists. Your duties will also include, but are not limited too:
- Geological interpretation of recovery data against geological information
- Ensuring drill programs are developed to meet production targets
- Check all Measured Resource Models, interpretations and estimates for quality and validity of applied statistical and modelling parameters and criteria
- Check the reconciliation of grade control data to ore resource estimates to monitor the validity of current estimates
- Manage relationship with drilling contractor to ensure effective contract management and delivery of obligations by all parties
It is expected you will offer a significant amount of experience in an underground environment, including proven experience covering the following:
- Archean narrow vein Gold deposits
- Strong structural geology background
- 3D modelling experience preferably with VULCAN
- An ability to 'add-value' across all aspects of a complex, underground mine
- A good understanding of Geostatistics and Recourse Estimation
- Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence
- St Johns Senior First Aid certificate desirable
