Position Synopsis

The role of the Superintendent Risk is to provide a centre of excellence for Risk Management for the Processing Operation at Olympic Dam. This role drives the embedding of risk management into all business activities, processes and systems within the Processing Operation.

• Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development;
• Custodian of Departmental Risk Registers across the Processing Operation;
• Ensures that risk issues identified from Incident reports, plant integrity meetings, HAZOPS, risk assessment workshops, THA's are up loaded into the Departmental Risk Register;
• Ensures that risk assessment is embedded into the Departmental Business and Strategic Planning Process;
• Provides progress reports and risk management performance reports to Senior Management;
• Advise and facilitate risk management activities for the Processing Operation at Olympic Dam;
• Act as the first point of contact for Material Risk rollout across the Processing Operation.

Please note this is a FIFO position to Olympic Dam out of Adelaide, operating on a 5/2 roster arrangement.

Skills & Experience

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field together with previous exposure and a broad understanding of the mining and minerals processing industries is preferable.

The successful candidate will need to have supervisory experience in a similar role and previous exposure to Risk Management or training.

A proposal to further capitalise on this rich polymetallic ore body is currently under study to develop a large scale open pit mine and significantly expand the process plant and associated infrastructure
