CH2M HILL Engineering Manager, Mining  - Whitehorse, Canada

The challenge? Help save and protect the one and only Earth we have.  Our Engineering Manager jobs are your opportunity to help restore environmentally impaired mining sites, and support mine planning and design. You will support mining projects in all phases of the mining life-cycle, from feasibility studies through detailed design and construction. You should be a self-motivated, team-focused individual with a minimum B.S. in Engineering (M.S. preferred) and successful 15-20 year track record in the mining engineering field, and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each mining engineer job.
 
Our Engineering Managers :

• Assemble and lead the engineering team to support the project team efficiently and effectively
• Identify resource needs where appropriate to achieve the safety, time, cost, scope, and quality objectives of the project.
• Manage and drive multidiscipline engineering delivery; ensure compliance with overall project objectives, not just engineering
• Are innovative in meeting deliverable deadlines while adhering to the scope of work
• Identify and execute value added initiatives
• Drive project completion by multitechnical team in multiple locations
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and client guidelines for design, project documentation and records
• Manage competing demands, accept criticism and constructive feedback, while being extremely adaptable and flexible
• Cascades quality standards to entire engineering team
• Evaluate and report project performance to management, and the client, if necessary
• Participate/lead in major technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions.
• Have a strong understanding of market conditions in terms of delivery of technological solutions to lead business development
• Mentor project team, junior staff and junior engineers by assisting with answering questions and demonstrating problem solving.

Basic Qualifications:
·   15+ years project management experience on large EPCM projects
·   Bachelors of Science in Engineering or closely related technical degree
·   Registered Professional Engineer
·   Experienced in Canadian mining reclamation and closure
·   Field and Construction Experience is considered an asset
·   Operating Company Experience is considered an asset
