Position Summary
Provides advanced geology database support including modeling and estimation, validating and documenting ore-body modeling procedures and systems and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Position
Works in 3D with computer modeling software to create geological reserve and resource models from raw data; also assists with the production and certification of periodic reserve/resource statements.
Understands structural complexity and translates the complexity to computer models; pproficient in modeling software package and database software with a preference for Datamine and AcQuire.
Understands and utilizes core drilling, production geology, engineering and operations data to correlate reserves and resources with the mine model used for business evaluation and planning.
Coordinate and prepare information for bi-annual reserve/resource audit.
Able to write technical reports in compliance with NI 43-101 reporting guidelines is helpful
Mentors other team members to upgrade geological interpretation and modeling skills.
Produces periodic technical reports that focus on key performance indicators to monitor progress and achievement of business objectives
Undertakes special projects and studies as required.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) or equivalent in geology or related field; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Competent Person Certification preferred.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
While performing the duties of these jobs, employees may be occasionally exposed to underground environments, moving equipment and outside weather conditions. The noise level in most work environments is usually quiet. This position is town-office- based and may require occasional visits to the mine site and out-of-town travel to the corporate office.
