Basic Functions:
The Environmental Manager provides leadership and mentorship to the team and the company on environmental issues.
The team leader will be expected to set goals and objectives for the environment team which are aligned with the Directors priorities.
He/she will be expected to help support setting the departments priorities and will be accountable for meeting key performance indicators (budget, projects etc).
This role will also be expected to take on a leading role in the company’s environmental issues including complicated liability negotiations and business development assessments.
Relationships:
Reporting to the Director, HSSE & Asset Integrity.
Specific Responsibilities:
Tracking and analyzing key regulatory compliance statistics
Tracking and ensure resolution on non compliance events
Ensure that appropriate and timely responses are provided to regulatory agencies on non compliance events
Track and support self disclosure activities
Track new regulations that are being developed and maintain a process to help TAQA North understand the likely impact on our business
Recommend company action on developing regulation to ensure that we can appropriately manage the risks and help shape the final regulation
Qualifications:
A university degree or technical diploma
10+ years of oil and gas experience in the environmental field
Strong knowledge of environmental requirements
Strong remediation and reclamation knowledge
Strong environmental impact assessment and environmental protection plan development
Strong knowledge on air quality and green house gas evaluations and requirements
A working knowledge of project risk assessment modelling
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets
A willingness and ability to work both as an individual and in a team environment
An ability to travel to all of TAQA North’s various assets
A valid drivers licence
