As a Technologist - Mechanical, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely mechanical drafting, design, and project management support to the plant and projects. You will also provide design solutions, detail drawings and project management support where needed. In view of the preceding, the Technologist - Mechanical, will be responsible but not limited to the following;
- Update and review drafting standards to improve CAD document control and communicate changes to the engineering department.
- Analyze potential technical solutions of safety and production requests while providing recommendations on best fit solutions.
- Provide drawings and drafting support for daily requests from operations and other support groups.
- To keep abreast of and assist in close out of projects.
- Support improvements of documents and drawing services that include job file management, backlogged drawings, management of construction, redline mark-ups, as-built drawings, microfilm conversion, and plotter/printer improvements.
- Provide support to Central Services including but not limited to programming support, pattern generation, and drawings interpretation.
- Provide supervision and construction management support services as assigned, ensuring compliance to IOC's safety standards including risk assessments, safety tours, Take Five's, safety interactions and change management.
- Act as Activity Supervisor for contractor management for outsourcing Mechanical, Industrial, and inspection services.
Education:
- Mechanical Engineering or civil EngineeringTechnology Diploma
Other Qualifications:
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, SAP) is desirable.
- Basic understanding of mechanical equipment or structural environment
- Leadership and organizational skills.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification as a CET (PTech) is desirable in Mechanical or Industrial or civil structural
Relevant experience:
- 1 - 3 years experience in a mechanical / industrial environment with drafting and plant design skills
