Job Description:

• This position is generally responsible for chemical analysis for raw materials and chemistry lab.
• This position will also support vacation fill in for the #2 Steel Producing Lab.  This involves rotating shifts.
• Train and pay bargained for lab employees.
• Ensure that equipment is maintained and order lab consumables.
• Review and write standard operating procedures for the labs.
• Performing measurement device calibration and verification including R&Rs and control charting.
• Ensure that lab test methods are accurate and according to current standards.
• Participate in internal quality audits and ensure that the labs meet all requirements of the TS 16949 quality standard.
• Act as backup for Chem Lab Process Manager.
• Interface with operations to ensure that they receive the support they need.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum/Basic Requirements:

• 1 year industrial lab experience
• Computer literate and comfortable using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
• Experience functioning in a team environment and providing support to team members.
• Strong communication skills are essential.

Preferred Requirements:

• 2 years operating and maintaining chemical analytical equipment (including OES - Optical Emission Spectrometer)
• 1 year supervisory experience
• Experience with measurement device calibration and verification
• Experience with TS 16949:2002, or a similar quality standard.

Education Requirements:

Minimum/Basic Requirements:

• 2 Year Associates Degree - Any discipline related to Technology / Science / Engineering

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor - Any discipline related to Technology / Science / Engineering
