CH2M HILL Electrical Quality Control Inspector Careers - Prudhoe Bay, Alaska

The challenge? Helping ensure the supply of our world's oil and gas. At CH2M HILL, we deliver solutions that span the entire breadth of the oil industry. Our Electrical QC Inspector job will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting, large scale oil and gas projects on the North Slope of Alaska on a rotational basis. Each day you will be an important team member performing quality control functions under general supervision to assure compliance with project requirements. You should be a self motivated, detail oriented professional with two years of electrical quality control experience for construction projects, a Journeyman Certificate of Fitness from Alaska, and prior experience working on the North Slope with NSTC training.

Our Electrical Inspectors:


  • Report to and take work direction from the Quality Supervisor.
  • Perform field and/or fabrication shop inspections per the Project Specific Quality Plan, the Inspection Test Plan, Inspection Test Procedures, applicable Inspection Report forms or checklists.
  • Notify supervisors of any discrepancies found between in-process or work completed and project quality requirements (Corporate, and client project specific codes and specification, and engineering drawings).
  • Document all compliances and non-compliances on the applicable report form.
  • Are IAEI Certified Electrical Inspector and NICET certified.
  • Re
  • Assist with Project Audits when requested.
  • Participate in the Continual Improvement Process and communicate improvement opportunities to your supervisor.  
  • Update Quality Controle files.
  • Perform special process and field installation inspections and surveillance of equipment and materials.


    Additional Information: The position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule (3 weeks on and 3 weeks off). Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided, however transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g., H-1B visa, etc) to fill this position.

Basic Qualifications

 


  • 2 years of electrical and instrumentation quality control field experience for industrial construction projects
  • A Journeyman Certificate of Fitness from Alaska or a reciprocal state, or Current AK Electrical Administrator License
  • 2 years experience working Office Suite programs (i.e. word, excel, PowerPoint & outlook), Visio, Access and/or FileMaker Pro
  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or related field, or an additional 4 years of electrical engineering and quality control field experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Valid driver's license including ability to be insured by CH2M Hill's auto insurer required. (*All applicants must provide an acceptable five year DMV record at the time of application)
  • Skills in understanding work related documents such as drawings, codes, standards, specifications, processes, procedures, and other quality requirements
  • Skills in negotiating and communicating effectively orally and in written format
  • Ability to manage competing demands, accept and provide criticism and constructive feedback, while being extremely adaptable and flexible
  • Ability to work with and process data using computerized spreadsheets and database applications
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Possess current knowledge of quality control principals and practices
  • Possess working knowledge of Alaska electrical and instrumentation codes and standards, testing procedures and processes, and reporting practices

Certifications Required

Alaska Journeyman Certificate of Fitness or Electrical Administrator License
