Maersk Oil in Qatar is the leading oil producer offshore Qatar and a recognized pioneer in oil development and production techniques. On the basis of an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) signed in 1992 with Qatar Petroleum, Maersk Oil Qatar (MOQ) is the sole operator of the Al Shaheen Field and has recently completed one of the largest oil projects in the world with capital investments of approx. 6 billion USD, called FDP 2005, comprising the drilling of more than 160 additional production and water injection wells. The current oil production from the Al Shaheen Field is approx. 300,000 barrels/day.

Maersk Oil Qatar is currently developing and expanding the facilities in the Al Shaheen Field offshore Qatar. Due to this expansion a Maintenance Engineer is required to support the crane equipment area, organized under the Operations - Integrity & Reliability department onshore.

The candidate shall be a qualified Mechanical Engineer with an HND / Degree in the above subject.

The candidate shall have minimum 5 years experience with CRANE equipment, preferably within the upstream oil and gas industry.

The candidate must be a team player, initiative, and self-motivating, enterprising, systematic, goal oriented and energetic. Furthermore the candidate must have strong collaboration as well as planning skills. Have a high focus on safety and cost control.

The candidate will be responsible for the following areas and tasks:

Maintenance of the CRANE equipment and ensure timely completion of activities to the specified relevant standards and specifications.

• Function as a technical focal point for the CRANE equipment.
• Organising spare parts within the area of responsibility
• Updating of stock cards
• Maximizing reliability of the equipment within area of responsibility.
• Accountable for maintenance cost within area of responsibility.
• Implementation of planned, preventive maintenance procedures and guidelines.
• Support to the onshore and offshore organisation on CRANE equipment related issues.
• Liaise with contractors and vendors and maintain cost effective and high quality service.
• Remain updated on technical development within the area of responsibility.
