Due to continued expansion, Aker Solutions’ Drilling Technologies business in Aberdeen invite applications for s Service Engineer on a Staff Basis. The role will be mainly Offshore based but with some work at the Workshop in Dyce.

Vacancies exist for mechanical, electrical and controls Engineers and applicants should have a recognised qualification equivalent to HNC/NVQ level 3 or above in one of these disciplines.

Responsibilities and tasks

Objectives / Scope

•       To provide installation, commissioning, service, fault-finding, repair and upgrade support to Aker MH UK (AMH) clients onshore, offshore and overseas

Main Responsibilities

• Carry out site surveys in preparation for equipment installation and/or upgrade
• Maintain proper and correct technical reports pertaining to particular assignment/task
• Attend de-brief on conclusion of assignment assuring all pertinent information is fed back to Project Completions Manager and Service Team Leader
• Provide advice and guidance to clients on correct maintenance and operation of AMH products
• Be able to appraise clients of current product lines, upgrades, improvements and service available from AMH
• Be prepared to travel to client sites onshore, offshore and overseas as required
• Provide support within AMH offices or workshops as and when required

Qualifications & personal attributes

• Minimum HNC, or equivalent, in relevant technical discipline e.g.  mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, process controlJob Knowledge
• Understanding of electro-hydraulic systems
• Familiar with offshore environment
• Familiar with drilling equipment
• Report Writing
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
