Job description:

We are looking for an experienced Coldmill Area Superintendent/Supervisor to join the Rolling Mill Commissioning and Start-up team on the Ma’aden Alcoa joint venture to develop a fully integrated, world class Aluminum Rolling Mill in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The primary purpose of this position is to support and lead the Commissioning and Start-up team in managing safety, production and quality goals, and ensure all employees follow proper safety procedures, for Ras Al-Khair Cold Mill Operation. The incumbent will participate actively in coaching and training the permanent Cold Mill team.

Main accountabilities:

  • Accountable for the Cold Mill safety, production, and quality goals.
  • Work with the maintenance organization to help set direction based on health of equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment and processes are understood and implement corrective actions to eliminate root cause(s).
  • Ensure all people within Cold Mill area have received the proper training.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the Cold Mill area.
  • Interface with engineering staff on equipment and process requirements.
  • Maximize equipment performance, resolve equipment issues and conduct effective equipment outages.
  • Periodically cover shifts when supervisors are not available.
  • Development of Standardized Work.
  • ABS/RIU/Daily Management.
  • Ensure Housekeeping program is maintained and followed.


Length of assignment: 18 months
  • BS Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other 4 year technical degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Hands on experience in Lean Manufacturing, ISO or Six Sigma are a plus.
