JOB OBJECTIVES

• Ensure that plant and process efficiencies are optimised by continually evaluating process performance and conducting quarterly surveys to establish where improvements can be made. 
• Troubleshoot to identify whether the root of grade discrepancies are metallurgical, operational or maintenance-related and ensure that the necessary action is taken and / or setting adjustments made.
• Monitor the quality of the products by ensuring that samples are taken according to procedure and that trends are analysed to scrutinize grade consistency.
• Evaluate and research new technologies that could enhance process and equipment performance.
• Monitor inconsistencies between lab and plant samples and make corrections where required.
• Provide solutions to process / metallurgical problems.
• Maintain and improve safety, health and environmental standards and practices.
• Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the supervisor.
• Ensure that SOP's are updated regularly to reflect changes in process.
• Administer and maintain operational process databases to ensure that the correct data is available for operational decisions.
• Compile standard reports on all products, trends and outputs as per procedure.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of a degree in Metallurgy/ Geology/Chemical Engineering with 2 years experience in mineral separation processes

                                                                 OR

• A Nat Diploma in Metallurgy/ Geology/Chemical Engineering with 3 years experience in mineral separation processes
• Proven experience in continuous process improvement in mineral separation processes such as screening, spirals and vibrators is critical
• Driver's licence: Code EB
