DESCRIPTION:
Provide electrical engineering support to all phases of capital project design and execution.
Serve as the point of contact for engineering contractors, fabricators, and vendors for electrical design.
Provide engineering support for North Slope operations and maintenance activities.
Leads the development of each projects electrical basis of design including studies of existing electrical infrastructure capacities.
Reviews design deliverables and monitor the performance of the design contractorâs electrical design teams.
Participates in process hazard analysis and safeguard evaluations.
Participates in P&ID and electrical and control systems drawing reviews.
Assists in evaluation of proposals for major equipment.
Assists in factory acceptance testing and field inspections.
Helps prepare quality assurance/quality control programs and plans.
REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Engineering from a nationally accredited college.
8 years experience in electrical design in oil/gas, power, or petrochemical industries.
Experience in power distribution, lighting, grounding, and heat trace systems.
Must be willing to work a work schedule of Mon-Fri with an occasional trips to the North Slope remote work location for design support or commissioning/start-up activities.
Must be willing to take visits to engineering contractor offices or fabrication sites outside of Alaska for 1 or 2 weeks at a time.
Previous North Slope or arctic experience.
Willing to re-locate for assignments to engineering contractor offices outside of Alaska.
Good written and oral communications skills.
A comprehensive knowledge of the operation and maintenance of fire and gas detection, inerting, and suppression systems.
State of Alaska PE license.
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS:
Round trip airfare will be provided with this assignment for out of town candidates. A flight at the start of the assignment, and a flight home at the completion/conclusion of the assignment.
For expenses incurred while working away from your home of record, pay will be split, with the first 195.00/day 9/16 to 4/30 and 285.00/day 5/1 to 9/15 will be paid as per diem in accordance with published government per diem rates and will be paid based on 7 days. Please note, this is not in addition to your base rate.
