Job Location: Corporate Office, St. Louis, MO
Overall Job Purpose: Oversee day-to-day administration of assigned trading, purchase, and sales contracts. Backoffice administration: assist with billing, collection, and provision of documentation supporting third-party imposition claims.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee day-to-day administration of trading, purchase, and sales contracts. Includes:
- • Develop, maintain, and administer trading and assigned coal sales and purchase contracts to ensure compliance with the terms of the agreement, completeness, and accuracy and address issues that arise. Maintain complete contract files on each customer. Update and review quarterly forecast and annual budget information for assigned contracts.
- • Ensure timely and accurate data, including pricing calculations, are input into commercial information systems.
- • Assist with month-end closing process.
- • Provide support for review of sales information (prepare ad-hoc reports, trend analyses, contract terminology comparisons, etc.).
- Backoffice administration. Includes:
- • Trade verification, which entails using the executed confirmations to verify the accuracy of the trade details between Arch and its counterparties.
- • Maintain and update trade documentation, which includes trade tickets, broker confirmations, counterparty confirmations, etc.
- • Calculate and analyze quality adjustments for all AER and ACS deals. Research and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- • For purchased coal transactions and option premiums, prepare internal invoices, and review and approve vendor invoices, including quality calculations as applicable. Approve bookout invoices.
- • Exercise of options – responsible to notify AER employees of exercise dates prior to option expiration; responsible for executing the exercise per the direction of AER personnel; responsible for input of positions upon exercising.
- Assist with billing, collection, and provision of documentation supporting third-party imposition claims.
- Special projects as requested.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or other related discipline or comparable business experience
- 3 years of experience in contracting with experience in business analysis, accounting, or related discipline
- Strong computer skills (e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets)
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to influence people
- Strong organizational skills
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite applications
- 5+ years of experience in contracting with experience in business analysis, accounting, or related discipline
- Experience with energy contracts (power, coal, natural gas, ISDAs, and master agreements)
