Implement and continuously improve processes, which comprise the safety components of the, Safety systems/programs. Undertake the responsibility for advising or developing all safety processes, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines. Be the company’s expert in safety related matters.

1. Plan and oversee implementation of processes necessary to deliver safety management systems/programs, aligned with company management system standards

1. Contribute to ongoing improvements of safety systems

1. Facilitate technical risk assessments and specialist investigations

1. Conduct fire prevention & protection assessments

1. Improve emergency preparedness processes

1. Audit contractor safety compliance for major projects, and system audits at operations

1. Define safety requirements and standards for construction projects

1. Assist operations and projects to resolve safety challenges, to contribute towards continuous safety performance improvement

1. Prepare training lesson plans and present training to operational staff in terms of safety systems

1. Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and business plans and year end reports  

1. Conduct Safety Audits at least four (4) times per year and mine site and as required from time to time.

1. Carry out measurements of especially dust and noise.

1. Scrutinize incident reports and take appropriate action.

1. Compile a safety report every month based on the reports from the mine sites.

1. Liaise with consultants and Ma’aden personnel regarding the occupational health aspects pertaining to safety

1. Keep yourself updated in safety matters by self studying and participating in safety related meetings and seminars.

1. Fulfill other similar or related activities as directed

a)     Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Safety Engineering and/or equivalent Bsc.                                                                                

b)    At least 3 years experience in safety supervision, safety systems in mines, processing plants, smelters and/or refineries

c)     High proficiency in English

d)    Advanced computer literacy

e)     Demonstrated knowledge of leading safety practice and international safety management systems
