Rotation: 2 weeks in/ 2 weeks out

Underground Electrical Supervisor
Reporting to the Chief Electrician at the Snap Lake Mine, this position will be responsible for overseeing the coordi-nation of all surface and underground electrical maintenance functions in a safe and effective manner.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring the effectiveness of the electrical maintenance team by providing leadership to lead hands, electri-cians, instrumentation technicians, and apprentices;
Continually reviewing and developing standard operating procedures and safe work plans to ensure alignment with best practices and established protocol;
Ensuring mandatory training is complete in a timely manner and documented;
Ensuring all safety, health, environmental, and legal standards are met and maintained, while working toward zero harm and ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to;
Working closely with maintenance planners to ensure electrical jobs are planned and implemented in an effi-cient and cost-effective manner;
Identify, schedule, and prioritize daily/weekly work load against manpower availability;
Crew competency, accountability, and development with applicable documentation as required;
Ensuring equipment availability and efficient resource utilization; and
Overseeing new and ongoing electrical maintenance projects.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess an Engineering Diploma (Electrical) or relevant trades ticket combined with at least eight (8) to ten (10) years of maintenance experience in an underground mine setting. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of maintenance systems and planning, the NWT Mine Health & Safety Act, CSA Z-462, M-421 Use of Electricity in Mines and other relevant safety acts and legislation is critical.
Strong communication, financial, computer, and time management skills are essential.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a dynamic and diverse team of trades people is key.
Previous experience with SAP, Microsoft Outlook, and Excel is an asset.
