Senior Safety Officer | Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) | $90,000(USD) + Excellent Benefits + Bonus

We are currently seeking a Senior Safety Officer for our globally renowned client in the DRC. The Senior Safety Officer will Report to the HSE Manager you will be an integral member of the safety team, ensuring safety best practices are met and also be responsible for managing Advisors and Administrators within the safety team.

*Fluency in French is highly desirable*

This role is responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining Safety Management Systems as well as providing continuous advice, support and improvement to business in all areas of Occupational Health and Safety.

Your duties will include:

*Ensure compliance with Safety Management Systems

*Implement Health and Safety Plans effectively

*Lead safety investigations and implement harm minimisation strategies

*Undertake regular risk assessments and manage audit processes

*Provide direction and advice to senior management in all areas of OHS

*Determine and initiate training interventions to increase employee safety skills

The Successful Senior Safety Officer should have:

*Tertiary qualifications in Safety or equivalent, post graduate qualifications preferable

*Demonstrated ability to lead a team of  Health and Safety professionals

*High level of communication and interpersonal skills (French, English or Swahili)

*Proven experience within the African mining sector
