Geoscientist needed for a full-time employment opportunity with a Global 100 E&P company in Houston, Texas. The ideal match for this position will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geophysics or Geology, a minimum of 5 years of deepwater experience, preferably in the Gulf of Mexico, a background in structural geology (either academic or post-academic), and the ability to interpret seismic and well data to produce maps of hydrocarbon traps. Additional requirements include exposure to interpretation of seismic data complicated by salt tectonics (depth and time data), exposure to depth imaging and development of velocity models, and familiarity with prospect risking and reserve calculation. Responsibilities include performing seismic interpretation utilizing the most applicable structural and stratigraphic models, other geological and geophysical data (including seismic attributes when applicable), producing maps using workstation interpretation and mapping software, and the structural and stratigraphic interpretation of well logs and other geological data.
