Quadra FNX Mining Ltd. currently operates five mines in Canada, Chile and the US which are projected to produce approximately 240 million pounds of copper and more than 115,000 ounces of gold, platinum and palladium in 2011.  Our team-oriented environment offers the opportunity to be challenged, to contribute, and to grow.We are looking for a dynamic Senior Project Engineer for location in  Robinson Nevada Mining Company – Ruth, NV.  The Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for providing engineering expertise to ensure mine expansion plans are carried forth in a safe and timely manner so that current mine production and long term mine planning are not impaired, works closely with and supports the mine planners, mine operations, exploration, environmental compliance, and interfaces with local and state agencies.  The Sr. Project Engineer works under minimal direction of the Chief Project Engineer.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  1. Promote company’s safety and management philosophy.2. Ability to master project schedules and incorporate into overall Projects Master schedule.3. Utilize company project management software to track, control and manage costs (JD Edwards and Excel) and schedules (Microsoft Project) .4. Accept responsibility for successful and timely execution of scopes of assigned projects, including third party deliverables.5. Ability to use AutoCAD, or equivalent, to review third party design and produce basic design drawings relevant to ongoing projects. 6. Experience in managing multiple projects, contracts, and multiple contractors.7. Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and presentation skills. 8. The capability to work positively with a team of professional and technical people in a changing, creative and energetic environment.9. Responsible for the development of annual and project specific budgets.10. Prepares “Request for Proposal” documents, evaluation of responses, selection of contractor, and contract agreement implementation.11. Provide weekly work oversight in the field (or more often as required) and budgetary oversight of consultants and contractors.12. Responsible for the effective management of own time and effort in accordance with project priorities and objectives.13. Convey results and findings by means of oral discussions and presentations.14. Purchase project related equipment to facilitate the work.15. Ability to interpret specifications and drawings and direct workforce to insure quality control.16.
