 GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Safety / Environment:
• Promote a culture of safety on site and within Technical Services.
• Safety duties including risk assessments, work place inspections and safety audits.
• Contribute to site Environmental initiatives and adhere to the Mercury Management Plan.

Production / Block Modeling
• Ensure geological mapping of the Underground headings and drifts is carried out.
• Collate and geological interpretation Underground, Open Pit and Exploration mapping.
• Conduct sample and assay QA/QC, and ensure all data is validated.
• Identify drill targets and oversee Ore Control drilling programs.
• Update, validate and maintain the muck lines in the production database.
• Assist with ore delineation, ore routing, stockpile tracking and process scheduling.
• Produce timely production block models to assist with planning, scheduling and forecasting.
• Collaborate with engineering prior to final design – grade shell, ore boundaries, ore types and structure.
• Provide latest geological interpretation for Resource Model updates.
• Training of geological staff and maintaining company geological standards.
• Contribute to regular KPI updates as required.
• Contribute to the End of Month report and other reports as required.
• Assist with Ore Characterization studies as required.
• Other tasks as directed by the Senior Geologist.

SELECTION CRITERIA

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

• BS in Geology, or Geological Engineering with 3-5 years of progressive experience with emphasis in underground gold mining required
• Experience in Mine Geology (either Underground or Open Pit) required
• Demonstrated capacity to execute and hold self, as well as others accountable for results required
• Demonstrated knowledge of drift-and-fill and long-hole open stope mining preferred
• Strong technical background using VULCAN mining software preferred
• Strong technical background using ACQUIRE software preferred
• Strong safety and leadership skills required
