Exploration Logistics Officer: C5

The Role:

This role supplies a logistical and administrative function to the Exploration team. The incumbent is meant to ensure a safe, cost effective and production effective procurement service. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe and effective fleet for the geologists
• Manage the tuck and driver logistics for timeous delivery and collection of core trays, samples etc. stand in as emergency driver should it be required.
• Make regular visits to the exploration sites to:
  • Manage the Asset Register
  • Assess vehicle requirements
  • Deliver hardware and urgent orders
  • Assess core yard requirements
  • Deliver post and documentation and collect orders and requisitions
• Ensure collection and delivery within 24 hours of notification by the Principal Geologist
• Compliant with AFRS
• Compliant to Anglo American Platinum standards
• Vehicle Fleet Management
  • Vehicle allocation to field staff
  • Manage central fleet
  • Services
  • Major Repairs
  • Licensing
  • Manage and maintain fleet records
  • Booking of vehicle driving courses
  • Manage vehicle tracking – Car Track system
• Computer Hardware Management
  • Laptop allocation
  • Laptop ordering
  • Arranging repairs to equipment
• Geology Hardware Management
  • Asset register management
  • Ordering of field supplies
  • Ordering of Core trays for the exploration centres.
  • Service management of Almonte Diamond Saws
• Management of CRM's
  • Manage manufacturing of CRM's
  • Manage distribution
  • Manage transport of all samples
• Liaison with external suppliers
• Budget input and budget control

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric/Grade 12
• Valid code 10 license
• Previous work in core yard management and administration (>3 years)
• Knowledge of core drilling operations (>3 years)
