Reporting to the General Manager - Exploration, South America, the Country Manager will provide leadership and direction to the company strategy, budget and execution of all exploration activities in Chile and Argentina. This leadership role will provide technical savvy on the existing portfolio of properties as well as lead the evaluation of new business opportunities in the region recommending action plans as appropriate. Managing the exploration teams, this person will have excellent interpersonal and team management skills in both English and Spanish (written and verbal).
With 15+ years of experience in exploration and a proven track record of managing exploration programs and teams, the ideal candidate will have a degree in Geology, Geological Engineering or related discipline combined preferably with a professional registration (P. Geo.) or eligible for registration. Experience in geological software (Gemcom, Autocad, etc.) as well as experience in reserve and resource modeling. Experience in exploration in Latin America would be a strong plus.
This position will be based in Santiago, Chile with travel to work sites in both Chile and Argentina as well as to the corporate headquarters in Canada as required.
