Senior Accountant – General Accounting – Oil & Gas Exploration & Production International
Large oil and gas exploration and production company seeking a Senior Accountant – General Accounting. This direct hire position will report to the Accounting Manager in the Finance Department. Compensation includes a competitive base salary in the $75,000 - $85,000 range DOEQ, plus an annual bonus, generous 401k program, superior benefits, and generous vacation and holidays.
Primary responsibilities include coordinating the external audit, preparing financial statements, cross-departmental coordination for G&A accruals and maintaining SAP master data and SOX documentation. Additionally this position will prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain accounting records for the Company
• Coordinate external and internal audits
• Maintain SAP master data and SOX documentation
• Prepare monthly analytics
• Prepare G&A department accruals
• Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
• SAP administration and enhancement
• Prepare consolidated financial statements
• Prepare and compile forecasts and budgets for the finance department
• Lead department balance sheet reviews and follow up on identified issues and proposed resolutions
• Ad hoc - Special projects as needed
Candidate Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• CPA or eligible to sit for the CPA exam
• Six (6) years minimum relevant accounting experience, preferably in exploration and production
• Two (2) years minimum experience in general accounting
• Some but not all public accounting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of consolidations and preparation of consolidated financial statements
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and computer application skills
• SAP experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload
• Good customer service skills
