THE ROLE
CCL has been requested by an international oil and gas company to provide a Geologist to be based in Houston. Must be willing to work / travel internationally as required by Client. Remuneration negotiable. Client would prefer candidates residing in the Houston area. This vacancy is being handled by our Houston office.
THE PERSON
At least 10 years of experience in clastics and / or carbonates reservoir geology (drilling operations, 3D static sedimentology and diagenetic modelling, and / or fractures and faults modelling), with involvement in exploration, appraisal and field development activities, preferably with an Operating oil company. Build detailed (3D) static reservoir geological models as input to 3D dynamic simulation models. Prepare well proposals, recommend coring, logging, well test programs. Contribute to detailed field development plans, reservoir and field reviews to identify appraisal, development and infill drilling and work over opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
BSc in Petroleum Geology, Sedimentology or Structural Geology, or in a relevant geological discipline. Understanding of fluid properties and dynamics, risk and uncertainty analysis and volumetric estimates. Fully conversant in the use of G&G databases, geological interpretation PC-based software (e.g. Petrel Geographix). Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English, essential. Must be eligible to reside and work in the US.
