New Opportunity

Atlas currently has an opportunity for a Superintendent – Resource Development to join their Geology team. This role reports to the Resource Development Manager

As Superintendent, you will be responsible for, and oversee the planning, implementation and monitoring of resource development activities. You will coordinate and supervise the work activities of field based staff and contractors. You will also assist in the growth of Atlas’ resource and reserve base with a focus on advancing the classification of identified resources.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Demonstrate visible leadership in driving safe behaviours and positive environmental outcomes.
• Coach, develop and mentor Geologists, Graduates and Field Assistants.
• Supervise the development, submission and execution of PoW’s and drilling programs.
• Oversee and assist with geological interpretations and reporting, and provide guidance in logging and data validation.
• Develop and assist with the implementation of geological mapping programs.
• Manage expenditure within the terms of the resource development team budget.
• Ensure adequate resources are onsite to deliver business and project outcomes.
• Actively participate in departmental leadership meetings.

Role Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity you will offer a degree in Geology. Proven industry experience with a least 3 years operating in a senior role, such as a Senior Geologist or Project Geologist, is required.

An understanding of geological principles and methods, and an ability to design, implement and report on geological projects, is essential.

People management skills are as important as geological skills and industry knowledge as the Superintendent is key in leading, supporting and mentoring their team.

A positive and enthusiastic outlook would complement the current Resource Development Team and Atlas culture.

This role operates on a FIFO 12 / 9 roster from Perth with Qantas. Build up those frequent flyers !
