Intermediate Petrophysicist Calgary, AB, Canada
Job Number: #PP-239
Qualifications:
An energetic, self motivated petrophysicist with 10 years experience in the Oil and Gas E&P or consulting industry with some background in petrophysical interpretation for international reserves evaluations.
Proficiency with single well and multi well log analysis, preferably on international assets in both clastics and carbonate environments.
Experience with petrophysical property characterization such as porosity, water saturation and permeability, integrating log and core data
Experience in wireline formation tester analysis, cased hole and production log analysis, borehole image interpretation, magnetic resonance log interpretation
Broad subsurface background with good understanding of petrophysics uncertainty
Strong computer and applications software literacy
Results oriented and disciplined approach to project completion
Combination of technical proficiency and strong interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills
Familiarity with reserves definitions and guidelines
Should be able to work independently
Mentoring or coaching skills an asset
Other language skills an asset
Active member of APEGGA and other professional technical associations
Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise to a team of geologists, geophysicists, geomodelers and engineers, resulting in the successful completion of reserve evaluation and resource assessment projects within appropriate scope and schedule guidelines.
Working with International clients to assist in formulating appropriate project scope and schedule estimates.
Provide technical expertise in multi-disciplinary teams to enable meeting project objectives within agreed scope and schedule.
Communicate effectively the results of technical analyses to team members and the clients.
Conduct reserves evaluations and resource assessments using deterministic or probabilistic methods.
Mentor and coach your colleagues on an ongoing basis.
Some travel may be required.
