Mine Geology Superintendent

FIFO 3x4/3 and 1x8/6 roster

We are seeking a Mine Geology Superintendent, reporting to the Technical Manager, to lead a team of mine geologists and pit technicians to optimise ore recovery and minimise ore dilution in mine production process. You will also be managing the day to day responsibilities of the team and provide business critical information to mine planning, quality and production departments.

Your main responsibilities in this role will be:

• Supervision and coordination of  all aspects of mine geology
• Planning, developing and maintaining systems and procedures to reduce ore loss/ dilution and  improve ore recovery while operating safely and efficiently
• Managing 20+ own staff consists of senior geologists, mine geologists and pit technicians
• Recruiting and developing personnel and coordinating projects and daily activities
• Training and competency testing of all geologists and technicians in mine geology work-  model queries, blocking out ore, marking out ore blocks, spotting and reconciliation
• Provide input for mine planning process and generating actual vs. model reconciliation information
• Coordinating with mine planning, surveying, mine quality and mine production for optimal extraction of ore as per ore block outs

To be considered for this opportunity you will require:

• Bachelor degree or above  in Geology or Earth Science with geology major
• 7+ years mining industry experience in exploration/grade control drilling and mine geology
• Excellent understanding and experience on safe system of work and incident investigation
• Extensive knowledge in production mine geology functions preferably in iron ore
• Previous experience in leadership role at senior geologist or superintendent level
