 GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include: This successful candidate will be responsible for pit mapping on field tablets with AutoCAD, Ore Control assistance, blasthole mapping, and the production of an annual Geologic map of the pit. Modeling of major faults and lithologic units in the pit, and the identification, sampling, and drill definition of final high-wall targets are additional responsibilities of the Mine Geologist. Produce maps for various projects in AutoCAD or VULCAN. Attend daily meetings to support the Operations and Engineering groups. Provide assistance as required to the Geotechnical and Hydrology groups.

SELECTION CRITERIA

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Geology or equivalent related degree required
• Five (5) plus years experience in geology in the mining industry preferred
• Familiarity with Cortez area stratigraphy a plus
• Open pit high-wall mapping, core and RC chip logging, and blasthole mapping experience preferred
• Experience with Microsoft office programs required
• Experience with Vulcan or other geologic modeling software preferred
• Committed to continuous improvement, root cause analysis, risk identification and control required
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment required
• Ability to work safely outside in varied weather conditions required
• Excellent leadership, people and communication skills required
• Ability to work with minimal or no supervision required
• Ability to work in adverse conditions and walk on uneven ground
