In the role of Senior Buyer you will be accountable to source, purchase and ensure the timely delivery of a select range of critical supplies and services. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Supervisor, you will obtain best overall value on the basis of safety, innovation, quality, service and price.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Transactional purchasing for a range raw materials, goods and services
• Conducting sourcing projects on behalf of Oceana Gold business units
• Analysing logistics, inventory, warehouse measures and standard reports.
• Identifying potential supply opportunities, through the optimization of materials or services and establishing fixed term price agreements
• Assisting in the preparation and negotiation of contracts
• Effectively using electronic logistics/inventory management tools

We are looking for an individual with strong written and oral communication and outstanding organizational skills, who is proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and ERP Systems; experience with Pronto will be highly regarded. A relevant qualification is desired but not required, though extensive experience in a purchasing and logistics environment is critical, as well as exposure to a manufacturing or production environment. Candidates with experience within a mining or asset-intensive industry will be highly sought after.
