Maersk Oil Qatar AS is the leading oil producer offshore Qatar and a recognized pioneer in oil development and production techniques.
On the basis of an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) signed in 1992 with Qatar Petroleum, Maersk Oil Qatar (MOQ) is the sole operator of the Al Shaheen field.
The current oil production from the Al Shaheen field is approximately 300,000 barrels per day from nine different locations and is exported via two main offshore facilities.

Key Accountabilities / Activities
Principal Accountabilities
General Duties:
Support Offshore Leadership team in the successful and sustainable implementation of Incident free Operation.
Assist in leading, managing and support the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of MOQ Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System as appropriate.
Ensure cross-learning and corporation of all HSE related issues across offshore departments and platform.
Support Offshore Leadership teams in developing (incl. coaching & training) and continuously optimising departmental safety teams and platform safety organisation.
Perform internal audits of “risk management” systems (PTW, R/A & mitigation, inhibits, isolations, Tool box talks etc) as requested by Offshore Leadership teams. All observations to be addressed with responsible line supervisor
Perform local safety initiatives (campaigns, specific training etc.) as requested by Offshore Leadership team. Specific focus on ensuring shearing of “good offshore practices” around the organisation.
Actively attend in Incident Investigations (when requested as the team leader) to ensure consistency accurate reporting.
Regularly review the inspection, maintenance and condition of all safety equipment offshore in particular the fire-fighting and life-saving equipment.
Review work packs, job packs and procedures to ensure that HSE involvement is at the appropriate level and that hazards have been correctly addressed and mitigated - as requested.
Assist in raising cultural awareness and personal responsibility understanding of all employees and contractors, and improve knowledge of offshore employees in HSSE technical disciplines.
General Responsibilities:
- · Assist the Platform leadership teams in ensuring that all activities on and around the installations are planned, executed and completed a safe and optimal manner.
- · Proactively monitor, review and audit all aspects of the offshore facility operations to ensure that HSE standards are being met. Identify, assist in solving issues and recommend improvement plans as appropriate to the offshore leadership teams
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on process safety, leading safety and Environmental issues on offshore installations.
- Assist Platform Supervisor in ensuring Maersk Qatar is becoming an Incident free operation.
Education /
Certifications
- Offshore Supervisor or engineering Engineering Degree, Marine or other relevant discipline
Experience
- 5 years in the oil/gas industry within a health, safety and environmental role.
- 3 years relevant Offshore experience.
- Fluency in English (full mastery in both written and verbal English skills)
- Flexible, have a good overview, strong communication skills.
- Relevant IT system skills.
- possess strong collaboration relationship skills
