Aker Process Systems has a permanent full-time opportunity for a Project Manager to work with our team based in our Calgary Southeast office.
Responsibilities and tasks
▪ Management of all phases of projects from concept through design, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning.
▪ Management of Projects from $100,000 up to $30,000,000 in size
▪ Accountable for all aspects of project including client interface, engineering, supply management, project controls and project margin.
▪ Allocating and optimizing the use of project services personnel within projects.
▪ Ensuring consistent and appropriate project reporting.
▪ Ensuring all activities are carried out according to the set policies, execution models, procedures etc., using agreed upon common tools and systems.
▪ Serving as the interface with stakeholders: management; corporate groups, partners, and clients.
▪ Taking technical accountability for design integrity and reliability.
▪ Ensuring full use of corporate engineering expertise/consultancy.
▪ Ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
▪ Ensuring all team accountabilities are fully defined; all team activities and decisions are continually in support of the project objectives, principles and priorities.
▪ Taking responsibility for implementing the project risk management process.
▪ Ensuring corporate support is involved where warranted to assess risks.
▪ Accountable for scope change control.
▪ Acting as a leader towards HSE excellence.
▪ Assisting and participating in bidding and sales proposals and client negotiations.
▪ Contributing to the standardization process of modular packages.
Qualifications & personal attributes
▪ University graduate in applied sciences, engineering (Mechanical) or technical school graduate.
▪ Eligible for professional registration in Alberta.
▪ Good communication skills and a team player.
▪ Strong business and negotiation skills.
▪ Ability to build a strong relationship with internal and external partners.
▪ Knowledge of project management and engineering tools and systems.
▪ Minimum five years project management experience within the Engineering/Oil & Gas industry.
▪ Proven experience in developing and executing major projects, from conceptual design through fabrication, commissioning and start-up
▪ Background with fabrication and modularization of process equipment preferred.
