- Supporting the development/programming/revision/qualification/issuance of new or modifications to existing Thermal Mechanical codes and methods as required to meet customer and AREVA needs.
- Creating Licensing Topical Report (LTR) documents as required for submittal of these new and revised code(s) to the proper regulatory authorities, and responding as needed to Requests for Additional Information (RAIs).
- Performing specific fuel rod analyses using existing AREVA codes and methods.
- Interfacing with other AREVA and customer contacts to carry out these responsibilities.
- Performing PIE data analyses to expand the AREVA benchmark database for irradiated fuel.
- Other similar activities as assigned by management.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
- Minimum of a BS degree in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent plus a minimum of 3-5 years experience.
- 2 years of experience in modeling code development, and in Fortran programming.
- Positive and effective team interaction and communication skills are required, along with a positive peer relationship history
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
- Engineering work experience in the nuclear industry, and familiarity with required engineering quality and controls in this industry are desirable.
- Preferred experience in code development and programming is with thermal mechanical codes.
- Preferably be generally familiar with nuclear fuel design codes (such as RODEX, Falcon, Frapcon, Cairo, etc).
