QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Essential);
• Trade Test as a Boilermaker / Fitter / Electrical / Instrument Technician (Essential);
• N3 Theoretical Certificate (Essential).

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years operational experience in Sandvik stacker and reclaimer maintenance environment;
• Minimum of three (3) years operational supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

• Computer literacy - Intermediate user of MS Office (Word & Excel) and JD Edwards, Dynamic Production monitoring systems, Active Factory tool, Achiever, IsoMetrix and QlikView.
• Functional knowledge;
• Diagnostic skills;
• Statutory knowledge;
• SHERQ skills;
• Management knowledge.

Other Requirements

• A valid Code B/EB driver's licence;
• Medically fit for duty.

• To ensure optimum availability and reliability of all Sandvik stackers and reclaimers in a maintenance and operational environment, in support of effective plant operations, through the effective and efficient utilization of specialist skills and knowledge, which includes:
  • Mechanical/Electrical and Control Systems maintenance operations;
  • Planning and organizing;
  • Asset care;
  • Budget and cost control;
  • Root cause analysis;
  • Quality assurance;
  • Staff supervision;
  • SHERQ adherence;
  • Work Ethics.

Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive flexible package.

The Company offers a highly subsidized plot in Kathu to encourage private home ownership.

The successful incumbent will be appointed subject to being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996 and meeting the requirements of the Company's Code of Practice - Minimum standards of fitness to perform work at a Mine. He/she may also undergo a psychometric assessment.

The abovementioned position is C4 on the Patterson band grading system. The successful candidate that conforms to all said requirements and experience will be appointed on this grading. Should the successful candidate not conform with all said requirements and experience, but are nonetheless regarded as suitable for appointment to the position, he/she will be appointed on a lower more appropriate grading, until successful achievement of required competencies and skills.
