GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION 

Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will provide support to implement and maintain the Ruby Hill Environmental Management System. Duties include preparation of communication and training materials, maintenance of electronic EMS support systems and support of inspection and audit activities. Will assist the environmental superintendent in permitting strategy, development and implementation of baseline and technical air quality information to support permitting application and provide direction and expertise throughout the permitting process. The successful candidate will interface as necessary with public and governmental agencies on air permitting matters for the site under the direction of the environmental superintendent. Additional duties will include training for site environmental personnel, environmental field work, oversight of contractors/consultants, document/report preparation, and management of special projects. Other duties as assigned.

SELECTION CRITERIA 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related degree required 
• Minimum Three (3) years experience in a position with responsibilities for air permitting in mining operations required 
• Experience with NEPA and permitting in Nevada preferred 
• Demonstrated successful professional environmental work with Federal and State regulatory agencies required 
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office programs preferred 
• Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously required 
• Demonstrated ability to lead the safety agenda and the empowerment of employees in taking ownership of their own safety required 
• Demonstrated ability in leveraging expertise to identify innovative, value-creating solutions for the organization required 
• Ability to think organization wide, un-siloed and commitment to Barrick’s future, strategic direction required 
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required 
• Ability to demonstrate key leadership attributes of authenticity, courage, decisiveness, collaboration and ambition required
