Director of Sustainable Development | $150,000 – $160,000 + Excellent Benefits

A leading Gold mining company based in South Africa are seeking a Director of Sustainable Development to provide leadership and experience to the Sustainable Development team which consists of Social Responsibility. This exciting opportunity offers a fast-track career progression with a view of becoming Vice President of ESR within 12 months. This is a full-time position based in South Africa, relocation is required.

The role has arisen from my clients continued growth and success. My client has plans to continue and develop further the implementation of sustainability best practises within the business.

The Role

Provide strategic leadership for the implementation and the development of the sustainability strategy.

• Ensure sustainability is aligned with corporate affairs and CR strategies, as well as with corporate financial objectives
• Communicate sustainability strategies and progress to both internal and external stakeholders
• Build effective working relationships with regulatory bodies, government groups, investors, and the public, to enhance the business reputation and licence to operate

Requirements

• Proven track record of delivering a sustainability strategy within high-risk industries, mining is preferable.
• Excellent management experience with the ability to communicate and present to board members
• Knowledgeable of latest Sustainability market trends
• Strong people and project management experience
• Working experience of Africa.
