Skilled repair workers in the mechanical field that perform routine and preventative maintenance on various operating equipment and systems. These workers may perform basic machining, heavy machinery maintenance and automotive maintenance. Duties include but are not limited to removal, repair and installation of mechanical components and basic to intermediate troubleshooting.
- Perform routine maintenance activities on processing equipment
- Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation
- Troubleshoot equipment problems
- Other tasks as assigned
- At least 1 year of mechanical maintenance experience in a similar industrial setting and experience operating light to heavy industrial machines and equipment.
- Proficient use of hand tools.
- Welding, fabrication and blue print reading/interpretation.
- Demonstrated focus on safety and the environment.
- Ability to adapt to change and to communication with all employees at all levels.
- Willing to work with and be a contributing member of a team.
- Willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Good attendance record and willingness to work rotating shifts.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs when necessary.
- Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Knowledge of equipment used within the Mill
- Experience maintaining and repairing mechanical pumps
- Experience maintaining and repairing conveyor systems
- Experience working with gear/shaft alignments
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Criteria/Conditions
- Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
- Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety foot wear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required.
