Aker Solutions' Drilling Risers based in Mobile, AL, USA, inspects services and repairs our clients' riser systems. We need a talented team player who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the drilling life-cycle services market. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer:

Responsibilities and tasks

TITLE:                MANUFACTURING ENGINEER      

REPORTS TO:        Manufacturing Manager              

General Summary:

Under general supervision, the individual is responsible for the manufacturing processes and procedures, production tools, solutions to production problems related to material, presenting and executing lean manufacturing initiatives, coordinating with design engineering, quality, and technical experts, and HSE.

Essential Functions:

•Responsible for writing and updating manufacturing work instructions
•Coordinating Non-Conformance reporting with Quality and Manufacturing personnel
•Process improvement
•Develops KPIs for the workshop
•Assisting with new equipment purchase, modification, and installation
•Identify ways to reduce production cost
•Trains personnel and implements Lean Manufacturing initiatives
•Provide manufacturing with technical expertise and support through communications with technical group and design engineering
•Reviews and ensures accuracy of production orders
•Assure all HSE and Quality requirements are adhered to
•Training and coordinating training of manufacturing technicians on new processes and process improvements
•Stays informed and recommends incorporations of new manufacturing technology and equipment
•Troubleshooting of problems affecting production

Qualifications & personal attributes

•B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial engineering
(Master degree preferred)
•4+ years of experience in Manufacturing engineering role or similar
•Experience in technical writing (work instructions, procedures, etc)
•PE designation preferred but not required
•Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
•Experience with SAP, preferred, but not required
•Experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD
•Must be able to communicate at all levels of the operations
•Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness
•Ability to work well under stress with ability to plan and manage multiple competing priorities
