Aker Solutions' drilling technologies business based in Kristiansand is a world leading supplier of drilling equipment to the oil and gas industry. We need highly motivated individuals who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the deepwater drilling market.

Responsibilities and tasks

• To perform global and local analysis/calculations for offshore steel structures such as derricks, drill floor, access platforms and equipment supports for drilling. The structural team works together with several other disciplines as an integrated team when carrying out the structural designs.
• Create design briefs and structural strength reports
• The main program used: Sesam Genie and Staad.pro. Mathcad is used for hand calculations.

Qualifications & personal attributes

• University degree (MSc or BSc) in structural, mechanical, marine or naval architectural engineering
• Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education
• We are also looking for newly educated candidates
• Good computer skills
• Sense of practical solutions
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good English skills both written and verbal
• Independent, yet at the same time a team player
