Description and Desired Qualifications
The challenge? Helping ensure the world's oil and gas supply. At CH2M HILL, we deliver solutions that span the entire breadth of the oil and gas industry. Our Senior Mechanical Engineer position will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting Energy projects in our West Houston office. Each day you will be an important team leader as you participate in the design, coordination, execution, and supervision of multiple mechanical engineering projects. You should be a self-motivated, detailed oriented Mechanical Engineering profession with 10 or more years of experience in oil and gas and petrochemical engineering facilities design.
Our Senior Mechanical Engineer:
- Supervises, trains and mentors junior staff
- Performs applicable equipment calculations on fixed equipment.
- Participates in design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs and vendor bid evaluations
- Participates in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets on mechanical engineering work,
- provides input to P&IDs, equipment arrangements, equipment specifications, data sheets, vendor proposals and technical studies
SPECIAL NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates residing in the greater Houston area. CH2M HILL will not sponsor a work visa to fill this position (e.g. H1B visa, etc,).
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 10 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for Energy and Petrochemical Industries
- Comprehensive knowledge of API and ASME mechanical and piping design standards and codes
- Experience in the specification and procurement of fixed equipment related to the pipeline, oil and gas, energy or petrochemical industries
