Job Duties:
This position will report to the Manager, Process and Design Engineering and have a wide variety of responsibilities including:
Preparation of project documents for construction and or concept design and bid documents using AutoCAD and Inventor. Must be familiar with 2006 and later versions.
Work with engineers and project managers to convey design concepts and advanced mechanical, civil, structural designs and sketches to address complex engineering issues.
Utilize the prepared drawings to perform material takeoffs.
Perform field surveys and as-built drawings.
Education Required:
Bachelors Degree or higher in Metallurgical, Mining, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering degree is preferred, but not necessary with sufficient experience.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 8 years experience in the mining or construction industry, with an emphasis on processing plants, transportation systems, and the design of the system components.
Experience with P&ID symbols and diagrams is preferred.
Special Requirements:
Specific mining industry experience in technical and/or management roles.
Thorough working knowledge of common and mining-specific computer applications including AutoCad.
Candidates with coal or industrial minerals industry experience and/or foreign language skills will be given priority consideration.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Location of Employment: Salt Lake City, Utah. Successful candidate will be willing to work in remote field locations (inside and outside the United States) for extended periods.
