CH2M HILL Process Mechanical Engineer Jobs – Corvallis, Oregon

Our Process Mechanical Engineer careers provide you with the opportunity to utilize your technical leadership and knowledge in mechanical engineering design of systems for municipal water and wastewater treatment plants. Each day you will perform tasks that include odor control systems design, technology comparisons, dispersion modeling, hydraulic modeling, pump and pipe sizing, mechanical equipment selection, piping and instrumentation drawing production, contract document preparation, and support of construction projects. Your work may also include support of energy modeling and building mechanical design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. You should be a self-motivated professional with three years of experience in the design of systems for process-mechanical facilities, along with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each new process mechanical engineering task.
Our Process Mechanical Engineers:
- Lead teams of process and mechanical engineers in design of odor control systems both liquid and vapor phase for domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plants.
- Develop technical leadership in the area of process mechanical engineering and building mechanical engineering locally and regionally while helping to win and deliver work under a variety of delivery platforms.
- Complete dispersion modeling for quantifying offsite odor levels using AERMOD and in support of air pollution permitting tasks.
- Provide design coordination between multiple engineering disciplines.
- Are responsible for the design phase mechanical budget, schedule, and quality.
- Advocate the use of advance engineering and automation tools in the design of odor control and building mechanical systems for water and wastewater plants.
- Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet deadlines and provide a high quality of work.
- Participate in achieving a Target Zero safety plan.

Basic Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering from an accredited engineering program
- 3 years experience in detailed design or process-mechanical facilities for ordor control systems of municipal or similar type water and wastewater treatment facilities
- EI certification
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the basic qualifications, we also desire the following:
- M.S. Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering from an accredited engineering program
- 7 years experience in detailed design or process-mechanical facilities for municipal or similar type water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Odor control systems design both air and chemical is preferred; HVAC, energy modeling, plumbing and fire protection design experience
- Oregon PE or the ability to obtain within two years
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
