Aker Solutions is a leading global provider of EPC/EPCM, Products & Technology, Field Services
and Integrated Solutions. Aker Process Systems Canada is Aker Solutions’ center of excellence
for Heavy Oil. We provide design, fabrication, assembly, packing, pre-test, installation support,
on-site commissioning, operator training and certification, start-up assistance, optimization and
process troubleshooting services.

Aker Process Systems has an opportunity for a Process Technologist/Engineer to work with
our Process & Technology team.
Responsibilities and tasks
Process and mechanical design, from preliminary design to supporting competitive bidding,
through detailed design during project execution.
Process design for assigned bids & projects by establishing design criteria and implementing
the preparation of specifications, design computations, drawings, models, and bills of material
in accordance with basic project requirements.
Organize activities with other departments and clients.
Opportunity to work on Domestic (60%) and International (40%) projects.
Qualifications & personal attributes
3-7 years of experience in the role of Process Engineer
Chemical Engineering Degree or Petroleum Engineering Diploma/Degree
Must have experience in P&ID development and equipment sizing
Fundamental skills using simulation tools such as Hysis is required (bility not only to complete
Hysis simulation, but also convert data into a physical piece of equipment.)
Must be eligible for registration with ASET and/or APEGGA.
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail oriented, practical mindset.
Background in Petroleum industry is required and an understanding of Conventional and
Heavy Oil is an asset.
Sizing and applications experience on projects from a process equipment manufacturing
environment or plant/facilities engineering from an upstream oil & gas company.
Hands on sizing and selecting equipment and detailed design engineering experience.
Fundamentals of project management and engineering tools & systems.
