GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include: To provide operation of and safe mechanical & welding maintenance to various pumps, pumping systems and shot crete plant for an underground shaft mine. To ensure that all equipment is maintained to high availability at a low cost.

SELECTION CRITERIA

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

• Excellent safety and attendance record required.
• Ability to read basic prints and scematics required.
• Basic fabrication skills including welding and cutting, brazing, arc welding and air arcing required.
• Ability to identify parts needed for repairs by make, model, size, type, etc. required.
• Basic knowledge of trouble shooting and repairing pumps, valves, piping systems required.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics and ability to apply these skills to trouble shoot and repair systems preferred.
• Ability to read and use precision measuring tools, torque wrenches and hand tolls preferred.
