We are currently seeking Permitting and Approvals Manager to join our Environmental team. Reporting to the Director, Environment , you will be responsible for the development and assistance with the implementation of environmental policies and standards across Corporate, regional and sites. Monitoring of government legislation, polices and plans and where necessary assist in the preparation of submissions with industry bodies (MCA, CME). Duties and responsibilities include:

• Establish a permitting management system within the region to determine permitting strategy, integration with operational needs and environmental design criteria.
• Develop permitting tools within region to track and guide all new projects and modifications to manage required permitting
• Ensure permits are up to date and the permitting process are being effectively managed
• Keep abreast of any developing compliance issues
• Ongoing commutation with site operations and environmental personnel, executive management , outside consultants and regulatory agencies
• Assist sites in implementing system and standards to ensure compliance and improvement in standards and obligations such as CN code compliance
• Able to listen to input, formulate recommendations in a confident and constructive manner and incorporate that input into a well constructed task or plan
• Act in a proactive manner to anticipate issues and solve existing problems in the context of operational requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline aligned to environmental science
• Experience in management position
• Proven track record of environment work with state and federal/national regulatory agency programs
